Dan studied Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sussex before joining IBM in 2000 as a graduate trainee. During his time at IBM, Dan worked on a range of different projects within the Global Services UK team, as a software developer and business analyst. Additional work on the IBM “Bright Sparks” and “Blue Fusion” schools projects inspired Dan to train as a classroom teacher, and he joined a PGCE course at the University of Southampton in 2004.

Professional Experience

2016 – Present: Havant Academy (Havant, Hampshire)

Curriculum Leader for Computer Science, ICT and Media (Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4).

2010 – 2016: Perins School (Alresford, Hampshire)

Curriculum Team Leader for ICT & Computing (Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4). Supportive of (and involved in developing) the whole-school “elearning” policy and 1:1 notebook scheme.

Awarded “Computing At School Master Teacher” status from November 2012.

2005 – 2010: Harrow Way Community School (Andover, Hampshire)

Teaching ICT & Maths at Key Stages 3 & 4. Temporary appointment as Head of Year.

2000 – 2004: IBM (UK) Global Services

Working with a range of clients in IT development and business analysis roles.
